McCabe Centre online legal training on law and noncommunicable diseases

The McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer, which hosts the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Legal Challenges, invites expressions of interest to attend the fourth edition of its online legal training course on law and noncommunicable diseases.

The course consists of seven online modules with accompanying live sessions, focusing on law and NCDs in the context of policy coherence between sustainable development, human rights, health, trade, and investment law. The course is aimed at government officials in low and middle-income countries but other applicants are considered on a case-by-case basis. The course is free of charge for countries eligible to receive Official Development Assistance and for Pacific Island Countries, and there are a mix of scholarship and self-funded places for participants from other countries.

Applications are now open and will close on 31 July, and the course will launch on 14 August

Catalog of awareness-raising activities

The intervention catalog can be used to set up awareness-raising interventions in the field of tobacco control, and more specifically at the intervention identification stage.

This catalog is not exhaustive, but provides an overview of existing and evaluated interventions relating to Article 12 of the Convention, whether they are effective or not, enabling the selection and possible adaptation of one of them to the needs of the country wishing to implement an intervention.
