The Waterpipe Tobacco Smoking Knowledge Hub (WTS-KH) is proud to invite with you to the WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY event to be held on June 4,2022 starting 10 am Beirut time at AUBMC in collaboration with Lebanon's Tobacco Free Initiative, with the presence of World Health Organization (WHO) Lebanon's Office and The Minister of Public Health (MOPH) Dr. Firass Abyad who will be the event keynote speaker, in addition to a Member of the Parliament Dr. Najat Aoun Saliba and other remarkable speakers and guests such as Mr. Fabrizio Marquez a former World Bank Group (WBG) Lead Public Health Specialist.
The annual campaign is an opportunity to raise awareness on the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use and second-hand smoke exposure, and to discourage the use of tobacco in any form. The 2022 campaign “Tobacco – Threat to our environment” will raise awareness among the public on the environmental impact of tobacco – from cultivation, production, distribution, and waste.
